Research shows that higher IQ is determined by birth order, not genetics. The study shows that even when the first born child dies, the second born (raised as the eldest) has the higher IQ. The research strongly suggests that IQ levels are based on social birth order, rather than biological and genetic factors.

This article is interesting. Maybe because I'm the first born? Ha. Really though, if you think about it, it kind of makes sense. The first born not only learns from parents and on his/her own, but also learns how to teach to a younger sibling. I bet the first born learns so much from teaching.
